Sustainability Readiness Tool

TRANSFORMING YOUR BUSINESS FOR THE FUTURE

How sustainability ready is your company? Are you interested in scaling up your organisation’s sustainability efforts?

Our Sustainability Readiness Tool can help.

A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR ALL

Material risks are broadening and becoming more complex with the realities of climate change, global health pandemics and rising industrialisation. It is imperative to rethink how our businesses operate and behave if we are to ensure our systems and foundations are resilient and fit for a sustainable future.

In 2015, the UN adopted a plan for achieving a sustainable future for all by laying a path to transform business models that would support societal needs, tap into new markets and deliver corporate growth whilst respecting people and the planet.

At the heart of this plan are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) representative of a roadmap for how individuals, businesses, municipalities, and countries could cooperatively achieve this by 2030. The SDGs were officially endorsed by 193 countries and 12,000+ companies have since signed up to the UN Global Compact, a movement aimed to mobilize companies and stakeholders towards achieving the goals.

MEANINGFUL CHANGE

The SDGs encourage us to make sustainable development a central part of our business strategy. As our current business landscape has given way to unprecedented acceleration, consumers and investors are demanding businesses take responsibility for sustainable development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of generations to come.

As markets are being disrupted and new markets rapidly emerge, organisations that integrate sustainability into their business will likely realise benefits as consumers and stakeholders reward those that demonstrate the social licence to operate.

Whilst frameworks for sustainable development come in many shapes and forms, the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) have provided a unified language, globally recognized and endorsed, that businesses can align and adapt to.

This ‘Readiness Tool’ has been specifically designed to help chart an organisation’s business against those global goals, providing guidance and a maturity assessment based on responses. Furthermore, the survey can be taken periodically to track progress of an organisation’s sustainability transformational journey.

WHAT IS A SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS?

The questionnaire is structured into seven sections, with the first six forming the Sustainable Business Framework –

  1. External Expression – Leveraging sustainability to strengthen stakeholder relations
  2. Internal Conditions – Embedding SDGs into internal processes, policies and asset management
  3. Supplier Requirements – Driving a sustainable procurement strategy
  4. Operational Processes – Integrating SDGs into business operations
  5. Products & Services – Creating a competitive advantage through sustainable products and services
  6. Business Model – Leveraging sustainability to drive customer value
  7. Future Priorities – What does the future look like?

WHAT YOU GET

On completion of the questionnaire, you will receive a custom report that assesses your organisation's sustainability readiness, in addition to providing an actionable framework and best practices to support you on your sustainability journey.
